Self – portrait, 2019
Two glass panels, oil and natural pigment;
40cm x 40cm x 0,8cm

Between two glass plates there is a mixture of linseed oil and natural pigments, which expands from a drop to a circular shape by my body weight. As soon as there is no more force acting on the plates, the air flows through the narrow gap that separates the two plates. Plant-like forms grow, which look like dendrites. A term that comes from the Greek and means “little trees”. During this work in the studio Space - Tree

Time, I dealt with fossils of plant origin and came across the topic of pseudo fossils, which are formed by a chemical reaction. In this context the process began and
the portrait was developed. So this work is not a representation of my optical appear- ance, but rather an imprint that takes up the trace of my presence in that moment.
